We're not sure how long the Chamber of Commerce has been honoring people who are making real differences in our community (our records only go back to the early '90s). But it's that time of year again!
Once again the Albany Chamber is proud to congratulate our Citizens of the Year - Jim and Beth Beller, and our Youth of the Year - Jessica Shen-Wachter, for all their community efforts.
The dinner will be held on Friday, October 19th at 5:30pm-7:30pm at Cantina del Sol, 1175 Solano Ave., Albany, CA. Please register online at everythingalbany.com by next Wednesday. Reservations (that include dinner) are $35.
Jim and Beth Beller have been important contributors to the Shower Program operated by Albany's Diverse Housing Working Group. This program offers weekly, free showers to people experiencing homelessness at the Albany Pool. DHWG has done a great job with this successful program while bringing in support from local businesses and organizations.
Jessica Shen-Wachter was nominated as Youth of the Year for her efforts to bring the student body together to embrace diversity in this challenging period.
